Richard
Burns Rally does not start, or has an
error message when it should be starting. |

To start with,
check your system has the minimum specs to run the game.
Click on the Start button, then on Run, then type in
‘dxdiag’. Click on OK, and this will bring
up your system information. (If you have any more technical
problems, please save this information off and send
it to us.). In this dxdiag information, check your processor
speed, RAM and video card memory against the minimums
required.
If your PC does not meet the minimum specs here, then
the game will not play.
Note that Richard Burns Rally requires a soundcard,
too.
Some graphics cards may meet the minimum specifications
for RAM, but may not work correctly. Examples incluse
Intel’s 810 cards, Matrox cards, SiS cards, the
Voodoo range, Kyro cards and the S4 Savage card. Richard
Burns Rally requires a graphics card with Transform
and Lighting support and

I have installed Richard Burns Rally and the game
will not run as intended. |

This is more than likely a hardware related issue. Using the DXDIAG program (click here for help) in mail here check that you have the minimum specifications (see above) necessary to run the game on your PC. If you have the correct specifications it is usually best to then make sure that you have the latest video and sound card drivers. You can find them here.

Check your manufacturers website for soundcard drivers.
Typical examples of a hardware related issue is the game booting up and just after the SCi and Warthog animated logos dropping back to the windows desktop. Any kind of graphical corruption in game can be usually resolved by installing the latest video-card drivers and setting them to their default settings.

I get a Pixel Shading Error when attempting to running Richard Burns Rally, what can I do? |

Richard Burns Rally needs a Graphics Card that supports PIXEL SHADING. If your Graphics Card does not have this as standard then the game will not run on your PC . Unsupported (non-Pixel Shading) Graphics Cards are:-

My disc
doesn’t work correctly? |
|

This will either be
the disc itself or the hardware. Check the disc for obvious
dirt or scratches; if it is new, please swap the disc
with your retailer. Sci doesn’t offer a disc swapping
service for accidental damage, unfortunately.
Occasionally, problems loading discs can be hardware related.
If the disc is clean and undamaged, or if other titles
experience problems too, please contact your console manufacturer
(Sony or Microsoft respectively).

can't connect to Xbox Live? |

This service is run
by Microsoft, so you will have to contact them. Xbox Live
has many troubleshooting features when run, so these may
also indicate the cause and solution of any problem.
